Unlike 90% of other "Katalin" dolls that may be offered for sale, this is not one of the 1,000 vinyl dolls GADCO produced with an issue price of $475. Instead, this is number 37 of only 100 porcelain dolls issued by GADCO with an issue price of $2,495. That price is ridiculous isn't it! She is in fantastic "like new" condition with beautiful authentic Hungarian costume with an elaborate floral headdress. I have only seen one of these porcelain dolls advertised on eBay in my frequent checks over the past several years. "Katalin" was winner of both the DOTY award as "Doll of the Year" and Dolls magazine "Award of Excellence". I list this as used because it has been removed from the original box for display at an estate auction which is where I bought her nearly 20 years ago. I am not a collector but I bought her at what I thought was a very good price with resale as my objective. However, I got busy with one thing and then another and she ended up back in her box after I showed her off for a couple of days to family and friends. There she has remained for these many years. I took her out of her box only recently to make the photographs you see here. I have both the original packing and shipping boxes as well as the Certificate of Ownership. I am selling my home and downsizing so everything has to go. I am starting this bid at what I believe is an ridiculously low price for a very rare limited edition porcelain edition doll.
