It’s hard to explain just how incredible and unique this stereo is. If you haven’t experienced directional audio before it will amaze you. The speakers transmit an ultrasonic audio signal which only become audible to the human ear when it contacts a physical object. In other words, you can direct these toward a group of people but only the person who receives the signal will hear what is sent out. It’s the difference between a hose set to “spray” and a hose set to “jet”. Why would one want this? Virtual Reality for one, but they’ve been installed in museums and the like for audio commentary and targeted advertising and similar situations. Years ago a family member couldn’t hear the tv without the volume turned to max. That caused some issues with other members of the household.
