Very solid construction. 📐DETAILED MEASUREMENTS: (Exterior / Interior / Works Space) 30” base + 24” top = total Height of 54” Top unit (desk cabinet) = 24” high. Base = 30” high including a 1” thick panel on which the desk cabinet rests (total clearance under the desk = 29”) Base is 20” deep (19” from front to the 1” metal bars in back) Total exterior dimensions (54" H x 48" W x 20” D) break down as follows: 54” height is described above (30” base with 29” of clearance from bottom of base to floor) and 24” top exterior cabinet height. 48” width is the exterior width of both the base portion and top (which are flush on each side). 20” depth (the top piece is 14” deep, mounted in the center of the 20” deep base - leaving 3” of base on both sides: in front and behind the top desk cabinet piece). This creates a more stable base when the desk is open, rather than having the weight of a computer/work space relying only on hinges. It also makes a nice design aesthetic, in my opinion. When the front desk cabinet “door” is open, the WORK AREA (from the front edge of the fold-down front panel to the back interior wall) is a full 28” (the folding panel itself measuring just under 16” to the hinged fold, and the interior depth of the desk being 12” from hinged fold to back interior wall).
