Hello, I bought this bed about a year-and-a-half ago. It's in good condition and does require a box spring beneath the mattress. The metal posts have some light unnoticeable scratches on them, and the headboard has somewhat of a discoloration, which you mainly notice under very bright lighting. I tried to clean it one day and I ended up staining instead. Other than that it's a lovely bed. I have to move by tomorrow so it has to be gone ASAP. I will have it fully disassembled. I do have the instructions booklet but can assemble for you at your place (in the local Nashville area for an additional $25 if needed). It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to put together alone.
