Description
In EXCELLENT CONDITION! Came framed and has never been taken out of the frame. Iconic piece as a tribute to Warner Bros. Mel Blanc “the man of a thousand voices.” Speechless. Darryl Van Citters Warner Brothers Tribute Litho Mel Blanc (1(contact info removed)), known as The Man of A Thousand Voices, created the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Foghorn, Leghorn, Tweety and numerous other Looney Tunes characters. Upon his death in 1989, the now-legendary Speechless artwork was created by Darryl Van Citters, then the Animation Director for Warner Brothers Classic Animation as a tribute to Blanc's 50 years of voice artistry. "Speechless" first appeared in print in The Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety in 1989. As the image of all nine characters with their heads bowed, and their eyes and mouths closed, remains the only captured artistic pose of its kind for the Looney Toons characters. "Speechless" remains today one of the most popular and widely known animation images within this genre of artwork.
