I felt that Cisco went out of his way to find what I needed. They didn't have what I wanted in stock so he went on a search. I was in a time crunch with selling my former vehicle and he came through for me by finding the perfect vehicle in a timely  manner at the price point I needed to be at. The finance manager was very helpful and made sure that I understood everything.

Carson Combs is an absolute gem to work with.  Highly recommend seeing him for any car buying needs! Super impressed with the quick responses to my questions while purchasing the car and even brought the car to my house and took my goodwill donations for me while he switched the cars. My wife and I have been looking at a new vehicle purchase and we wanted a Chevy traverse since we had one already and liked it very much.
I travel quite a bit so I was able to visit many different Chevy dealerships. While I was out of town, my wife drove over to Bob Grimm Chevrolet in Morton IL. Carson Combs greeted my wife and listened to what she was looking for. They had a vehicle on site that met her request so he showed her the car and explained -all- its features. I say all because it had more than we were accustomed too.
Long story short, I was able to meet with Carson the next day and was very impressed with his knowledge and demeanor. Easy going with no sales pressure made for a relaxing process.
My son purchased a vehicle from Bob Grimm many years ago and I remember it being the same process.
Kudos to Bob Grimm Chevrolet and especially Carson Combs.

This review is to inform the public of my personal experience with the mechanic department of Bob Grim Chevy on 1-13-25. This may not reflect their sales department.

I previously changed out the rear brake calipers, rotors, and pads myself on my 2014 Chevy Silverado. After I personally did the repair, I still couldn’t get the brakes bled properly. (Brakes just felt mushy so I felt like I only had 50% of the braking power after multiple attempts at bleeding) and also my rear driver rotor was smoking slightly with it being scolding hot after driving. 1-13-25 I was scheduled with them to see if they would simply bleed the brakes for me. I explained I had previously tried multiple times with no success and told them all that was happening including the rear driver caliper sticking.

At the counter I’m informed they couldn’t just bleed them and would need to do a $150 brake inspection before to make sure they could be bled. I hestitantly agreed thinking that was probably going to be the same price for the brake bleed itself.

Later in the day I get a phone call explaining what they found. I needed a new Vacuum Pump and that I installed the calipers on the wrong side. (I’m not a professional mechanic). The quote was $1,069.72 to get my vehicle braking correctly. I told them to go ahead with the work and told me they ordered the parts but it would be a couple days.

Later the next day I get a call from one of the Reps stating the mechanic broke the I-Shaft while removing the vacuum and would need an extra $600 for the part and labor to fix it. I was reluctant but was told the part was so rusted that it was seized on there so it was unavoidable. I had no warning call about it before it happened just a call after it was broke. With no other option or even trying to work with me on the price I told them to just fix it as I needed my vehicle. The next morning I called them to have them put the broken rusty part aside for me to inspect as I wanted to know how rusty it really was. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem.

Fast forward to the end, I pay them $1,705.39 for what was initially just me trying to get my brakes bled.

The next day I drive 40 minutes away and see smoke as I’m at a stop light and get out to the rear driver rotor smoking and scolding hot still. I call Bob Grim and they say to bring it back and see what’s going on. After they had it over the weekend I get a call Monday and they tell me they test drove it MULTIPLE times and noticed no issues. They checked the temperature of each rotor afterwards and they both read 150 degrees. They did reccomend a $450 brake pad change as I had to grind a little bit off the new pads I put on for them to sit properly in the bracket.

I decline the pads and I’m told they want another $90 for looking at one of the main issues that should have been fixed with them switching the calipers around($300 charge). I refused to pay that $90 and was told they understand where I’m coming from so waived the 90$ cost.

Finally leaving their shop for the final time, right away I noticed the brake was still locked up. I drive home and when I pull into my driveway, once again the rear driver rotor is smoking.

I was told all the repairs they did were 100% necessary to get my brakes going again and my vehicle back on the road and feel like I paid $1705 and my vehicle is almost the same as the day I brought it in. (A little better braking power with them bleeding it) They couldn’t explain why this $1700 repair left me in the same spot as when I came in for service.

I never got to see the $650 rusty shaft. They said it was already thrown away. On the bill I received, the technician even states that he knew the ishaft was “rusty and seized” but they don’t call the customer first to explain there may be an additional $650 charge if it breaks?

To sum this up - $1705.39 repair made my disabled vehicle still disabled. I was lied to about checking the vehicle out multiple times afterwards and them telling me everything was fine.
