This piece was purchased by my grandparents while on vacation in the netherlands in 1965. My mother inherited it in 1980 and I inherited it in 1999. It's in great shape but has moved quite a few times and has some nicks and dings and some veneer needing restoration in a few small spots. The shelf in the bottom storage area is no longer with the piece, and one of the small shelf pins (1 of the 4) is missing from the stationary shelf (easily replaced with a new one for less than $2) Otherwise, it's in great shape and with a small amount of TLC, can be fully restored. These pieces are extremely popular and range from $2000 to $4000 (based on condition) and sell quite quickly. I am posting it at the lowest end ($2000), as it does need a little restoration, but it's a beautiful piece and a great investment. A little about the piece and design. I encourage you to do a search for them. Midcentury bookcase designed by Johannes Sorth in Denmark in the 1960s and manufactured by Nexo Mobelfabrik and made of teak verneer, with solid teak inlays. The bookcase has a pull out writing surface and tambour doors that open to reveal stationary storage. Two shelves are both removable and height adjustable. ‘Bornholmer bookcases’ refer to a specific type of bookshelves that is named after the Danish island of Bornholm and known for its sleek design and functionality, often featuring clean lines, minimalist aesthetics, and high-quality craftsmanship.
