Description

*1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Resto-Mod* When Ford debuted the Mustang in mid-1964, it was such a sales hit that the other American manufacturers instantly realized they needed cars to compete in the segment. In 1967, Chevrolet’s Camaro went on sale as a more powerful and aggressive Mustang alternative, and went on to become one of the ultimate vehicles of the muscle car era. To this day, the first generation Camaros - built between 1967 and 1969 - are some of the most desirable American cars from any era and are without a doubt some of the most frequently customized vehicles of all time. This 1967 Camaro RS/SS Resto-Mod was built by Show Quality Restorations in Longview, WA who undertook a rotisserie custom build between 2015 and 2018. Beyond a cowl induction hood and 18-inch US Mag wheels with power Wilwood disc brakes hiding behind them, there is little to give away the work that has been completed beneath the car, taking the driving experience from classic to modern. Finished in black, this Camaro features coveted RS/SS features like the hide-away headlights behind the front grille, and more subtle, elegant design that is associated with the Camaros from 1967. Move to the interior and you are met by a set of modern bucket seats with partial power adjustment, that are wrapped in a combination of leather and Alcantara with red contrast stitching throughout. A three-spoke billet steering wheel is fitted to an Ididit adjustable steering column and behind the wheel sits a set of modern Vintage Digital gauges. Running between the two front seats is a custom built console painted to match the black exterior, with chrome accents and cup holders, and in the waterfall above it sits a modern classic-look stereo and controls for the air conditioning. Where the modifications get really serious is under the hood - the running gear was taken from a 2002 Corvette, meaning an LS2 V8 that produces 378 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque with both fuel injection and coil-on-plug ignition. Although largely stock, this engine does benefit from a Spectre air intake and a set of jet coated headers, along with an aluminum radiator with electric fan to keep everything cool. This is connected to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual from the Corvette, which sends power back to a Ford 9-inch rear end with a drop-out 3rd member for quick rear gear swaps. To keep up with all the power, the suspension has also been entirely overhauled with tubular upper and lower control arms, QA1 front coil-overs, Hotchkis rear leaf springs and ride adjustable rear shocks. Subframe connectors keep everything tied together beneath the car, and a rack and pinion steering system makes for precise, quick turn in- something this car never would have had stock. To really drive home how special this car is, the entire engine bay has been shaved, painted body color and polished, putting the engine on full display when you open the hood. This professionally built Camaro is an absolute stunner and getting behind the wheel only improves the experience. If you have ever wanted to own a classic muscle car but didn’t want to give up the convenience and performance of a modern vehicle, this is the right car for the job. To replicate this car would take considerable time and money, but this example is ready to go and has nearly 2,000 shakedown miles on it since the build was completed, ensuring you get a car that you can just hop in and drive. *Key Features* * Built by Show Quality Restorations in Longview, WA * Rotisserie Build Between 2015 and 2018 * 2002 Corvette LS2 V8 * 378 Horsepower/398 Lb-Ft of Torque * Jet Coated Headers * Spectre Air Intake * Coil On Plug * Fuel Injection * Tremec T56 6-Speed Manual Gearbox * Ford 9-Inch Rear End * Wilwood Disc Brakes * Tubular Upper/Lower Control Arms * QA1 Front Coilovers * Hotchkis Rear Leaf Springs * Ride Adjustable Rear Shocks * Subframe Connectors * Rack and Pinion Steering * Air Conditioning * Aluminum Radiator w/Electric Fan * Ididit Adjustable Steering Column * Vintage Digital Gauges * 18-Inch US Mag Wheels *Additional Information* * Build Invoices and Photos * Dyno Sheet * Integrated Battery Tender For more information on this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Resto-Mod or any of our 150+ High-Performance, Exotic, Luxury, and Special Interest Cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or feel free to drop by our 40,000+ sq ft of Indoor Showrooms in Bellevue, WA - Home of an Exciting Inventory of Luxury, Exotic, High Performance and Collectible Automobiles.
