Excellent condition. Mid century Authentication from bates to be 1950’s era. The Queen Elizabeth is a true French-style matelassé. This iconic matelassé bedspread is an authentic reproduction of an original hand-woven masterpiece dating back to the Elizabethan era that would also become quite popular in Colonial America. This enduring favorite features an elegant center medallion and flowers woven in a heavyweight puffed pattern that gives grace and clarity to this classic museum-designed bedspread. Bates originally introduced the Queen Elizabeth Bedspread during the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It has been in continuous production for over 60 years - second only in age to the Martha Washington's Choice (introduced in 1940). The Queen Elizabeth continues to be one of Bates' most popular bedspreads and has also been known as the "Elizabethan Court." Finished with a knotted string fringe on three sides, round corners at the foot and a 21 inch drop. Weight Class: Heavyweight Size Specifications: Full: 96″ x 110″
