Description

For sale: 2006 BMW 530xi Touring Original 6 speed Manual Transmission Mystic Blue Metallic/Beige Interior 192k miles VIN: WBANN73576B799020 Exterior: The Mystic Blue Metallic is an awesome color. The paint shows well for being a daily driver with almost 200k miles on it. There are some typical paint chips, small door dings, and normal wear. The car would benefit greatly with a compound/polish but looks very presentable as is. There is one spot where paint is bubbling at the rear arch (pictured) but otherwise I see no rust on the body. This seems like it could be DIY remedied before it gets worse. Rear air suspension works as it should. For a Northeastern car I think it's aged well. Interior: The beige interior is in good shape with the only notable spot to mention being cracking in the bottom driver bolster from getting in/out of the car. All of the windows/ panoramic sunroof/radio/heat/AC work as they should. The top hatch glass does occasionally pop when starting the car. Doesn't happen often and never when driving. I chalk that up to these usually needing the hatch wiring gone through. Mechanical: The N52 and 6 speed manual transmission accelerate and shift very smooth as they should. The car has received some recent maintenance including; new battery, alternator, front trust arms, front wheel speed sensors. That being said, the car could use a few things. The somewhat common trifecta ABS/DSC/Traction light is on. I scanned the codes and it is reading (Wheel speed LEFT, Steering angle plausibility). I'll explain my findings. When I replaced the front speed left speed sensor the codes cleared, after driving for a few minutes it came back on. When I removed the sensor, the reluctor ring chewed up the new sensor due it being cracked/fraying. I would suspect this is the culprit. There is also a quiet but still noticeable "humming" noise coming from the passenger side at low/medium speeds. Almost sounds like tire noise There is a small shimmy during medium/hard braking. The car also needs an IBS sensor for the battery which I have already ordered a good used unit. Will be replaced/included depending on when it arrives. Lastly, the oil pan gasket seems to be sweating some oil. Not enough to leave marks in the driveway but visible underneath. The top side of the engine is pretty dry. Overall, after correcting these things it would make a great daily driver. AWD, plenty of space, and a rare 6 speed manual. I have been driving it as is and its been a joy! Located in Elkton, MD and am asking $5500 or best reasonable offer. It is priced pretty low compared to the other 6 speed tourings I've seen recently due to the issues it has. Thank you.
