He studied architectural drafting at the Istituto Galileo Galilei and later learned from painter Silvio Loffredo, who encouraged him to find his own style. Inspired by Italian impressionists like Fattori, D'Ancona, and Lega, Sassone exhibited his early works in Florence. After the devastating flood in 1967, he moved to California and showcased his art at various galleries, including the Dalzell-Hatfield Galleries in Los Angeles. Throughout the 1970s, Sassone exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad, receiving accolades such as a gold medal from the Italian Academy of Arts. In the 1980s, he moved his studio to San Francisco and continued exhibiting while also addressing social issues in his art. His notable exhibition "Home on the Streets" explored the lives of the homeless in San Francisco. Sassone's works have been featured in exhibitions worldwide, including a retrospective in Italy and a solo exhibition in Toronto. He works in various mediums, including painting, ceramics, and works on paper. Recent exhibitions include shows in New York, San Francisco, Rome, and Toronto.
