This stunning colorful vintage Italian "micro" mosaic brooch features Spring blue & white flowers framed by orange mosaic. It is inlaid in an oval silver frame with a pin back closure. Micro mosaic and mosaic date back to the Roman Empire. It became popular to wear micro mosaic jewelry in the 17th – 19th centuries as rich European families were touring Europe especially Italy.
