I believe the color is cappuccino, I'm not sure. The material feels like suede could be real suede but I don't know for sure. No major stains or mess but some spots are a bit darker than others due to normal wear. My mom bought it brand new in 2013 so it's about 6 years old. It was in my mom's house until 2017 when I moved to my apartment. Neither homes ever had a bed bug issue and both homes were smoke free. Pets were in both homes but no pet stains were ever on the chair at any time. It's still very comfortable, I've fallen asleep in it several times. Recliner mechanism works great. The back piece of the chair slides off so it's easy to fit into a vehicle when you pick it up. I can not deliver the chair so local pick up only.
