An outstanding buy, the JBP82 is chock full of desirable features and offers just about everything you could want. On the surface, you'll find five ribbon elements embedded in a glass-ceramic top. The large oval to the left is a bridge element. This feature enables both the front and back elements to work together under the control of a single knob. A great solution for controlling heat under a shallow oversized pan, this bridge will come in handy for canning and preparing pot roasts, bouillabaisse, and "gravy-in-the-pan". A second element offers a dual feature, a ring of heat that adjusts to pan sizes of 6 or 9 inches in circumference. The element in the center is a keep warm zone. Complete with indicator lights, this range works to keep you safe by alerting you that an element is on or still hot. Look below the cooktop and you'll find the spacious 5.0-cubic-foot self-cleaning oven. This oven has a 6-pass bake element for thoroughly and evenly exposing foods to heat. The oven controls are electronic and operated by simple touchpads. A digital display reads out time and temperature. Across the bottom is a convenient full-size storage drawer. If forgotten for a long period of time, this oven safely shuts itself off. As an option, the shut-off feature can be overridden.
