Description
Hello my name is Ryan and I’m looking for motorcycle mechanic with knowledge of electric issues. I have a 2001 Yamaha vstar 650 that currently is not receiving any electrical response. I’ll have a description of the symptoms and how the bike ended up that way below. I’m willing to pay up $250 for someone to diagnose the problem and fix it. I’m not looking for a miracle, just a running bike. You will need a electrical tester, and have to be willing to come to my house to fix it. The bike is located inside of a garage. Now for the story. Last year my bike became harder and harder to start. It took longer and longer start. It had no problem turning the engine over but produced less and less spark till it sparked no more. I went to work on the bike to try figure out want had happened and the bike started on its own turning over and cranking over. I could not stop it in time before it fried the battery on the negative terminal. I then figured it was the starter relay that failed and caused the bike to start on it own. I replaced the starter relay and the battery and no electric response at all. No lights turn on. I also replaced the cdi with a used one, however the newer cdi was in when the battery fried. I have two cdi’s, two starter relays.
