Surfboard, Channel Islands Al Merrick Flyer II Step Up

Original first generation Al Merrick Flyer II 6’3” made in the year 2000. For some reason the classic Flyer II really does a better job of catching waves than the newer flyers out on the market. Designed to be a step up for larger waves but I’ve had a great time on this board on days from 2-3 foot. 6’3” x 18.25 x 2.25 or approximately 27.6 Liters ~ 28 Liters. Includes fiberglass FCS large size fins made by DCL Surf, like new dakine traction pad as well as a very good leash. 11x world champion Kelly Slater rode a 6’5” x 18.25 x 2.25 with a bit narrower profile so this board was created with those features in mind. 5.1 inch rocker up front and 2.0 inch rocker out the back, pretty standard high performance shortboard. Thinning out the quiver. Never had a bad day surfing this board. I’m 6 foot and 180 lbs. and need a bit of a higher volume board considering my weight and skill level. Compared to other boards of similar or slightly higher volume, this board outperforms them. No major dings watertight and tested. I’ve tried the flyer original model in a slightly higher volume and still couldn’t get as good of waves as I did with this board. Really great for top to bottom style surfing. Not one ding on it. Price is firm and fair.
