Description
Bought this a few years ago to make a "camper van". Did a lot of work to it which Ill try to remember and list everything.... New timing chains New timing chain tensioners and guides New timing crank trigger wheel New crank and cam position sensors New coils and spark plugs Cleaned Mass Airflow sensor and new air filter New fuel Filter New radiator, waterpump, thermostat, and coolant. New O2 sensors In the inside I completely stripped the interior and applied several coats POR-15 rust preventive and rust converter treatment to the floor. Added sound dampener to front cab floor area. Installed foam insulation under a plywood flooring. Installed fiberglass insulation to any wall cavities then foam wall insulation. Walls were paneled in and everything was carpeted. Installed the bench seat along the wall behind the driver seat anchoring with heavy bolts to reinforced flooring ribs/washers/bolted. Replaced 2 of the american racing rims and bought new 31.5" knobby all terrain tires. Extra spare ...all matching. Drove for a year or so after this, ran and drove fantastic. I noticed an exhaust leak and found all the exhaust was severely rusted. I ripped out the exhaust and have it terminating midway ...after the y pipe is the catyllitic converter, then a long glasspack style muffler.... Its loud and drones a bit. After ripping the exhaust out I noticed it ticking. I thought it was a rocker but it doesnt do it on startup only after it warms up so could be exhaust leak ... I just dont know and since the ticking I parked it where it sat about a year. I drove it a few months ago...added some 93oct gas to the tank, runs great but noticed the ticking again so parked it again. I planned on investigating and finishing the build but lost interest so decided its time to sell. The good..... Its a superduty, solid frame and floor, 6.8 v10 which are hard to find now. Lots of torque and pulling power. Dana 60 rear end with low gears (4.10 I believe) Lots of new parts and interior work New tires Runs great Ice cold air Extended cargo....lots of room no windows. The bad.... Started ticking and never investigated it. Rear quarters have some rust. Windshield got cracked while parked. Its spidered bad on passenger side but not leaking. Its kind of loud and the exhaust drones. Never finished carpeting the corners or rear doors. One of the side cargo doors is stiff to open close. Driver door needs slammed to fully shut. Lots of small dings and scratches, bondo in driver rear quarter. Passenger front window tint is wavy and needs retinted Thats about all I can think of. Drives great, the tick just scared me into parking it incase it was a rocker going bad. https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/ Trades/Partial trades interested in....
