FREMONT TROLL BIO: The Fremont Troll (also known as "The Troll" and "The Troll Under The Bridge") is the unofficial mascot of Seattle's eclectic neighborhood of Fremont. 18 feet high and weighing 13,000 pounds, The Trollis skulking under the Aurora Bridge with a life-size car in his hand, as if he just reached up from under the bridge and grabbed the unsuspecting victim. The Troll was sculpted by 4 artists who joined together and won a competition sponsored by the Fremont Arts Council in part to revitalize the area under the bridge. The competition was decided by public vote at the Fremont Fair in 1990. FUN FACTS The Troll officially took residence on Halloween in 1990 and his birthday is celebrated as Trolloween every year since. The Fremont Troll has been an unofficial witness at several wedding ceremonies held under the Bridge. In 2005, the street where The Troll resides was renamed "Troll Ave N". The Fremont Troll has won numerous awards, including Seattle's Best Public Art by Seattle Weekly Readers' poll. He has two Hollywood films as well as appearances on national popular television shows on his resume. It is estimated that The Troll has received nearly a million visitors. #seattle #collectable #fremonttroll #chiapet #unique #rare #gift # garden #lol #pnw
