Description
Here is a nice signed print from Henrietta Wyeth. See bottom of post for more info regarding this artist. I saw someone trying to sell this for $400 and $450 on EBay, but that post is gone how. I see someone sold one of these on estate sales for $86. I see others trying to sell these for way more. So, pick this one up here for a bunch less. This is 32 inches wide, 30 inches tall and 1 inch deep. Looks like someone wanted to checkout the back and ripped the padding in a couple places. They must have thought that another pic is under this one or something. I highly doubt it. Grab this for just $75, amount is firm. First come first serve unless we agree on a time for you to pick it up. Cash only and Pickup only. Mornings are always best between 9 am and noon as I work most days anywhere from 1 till 8 or 9. However, some days I am free all day. Also checkout my other listings. I live near South Point Casino. I can meet in front of my apartment building leasing office. 2720 West Serene Avenue, Las Vegas. (Words below copied from the other print for sale, I changed the number) This is a photographic reproduction commonly called a "collotype", probably dating to the late 1970's or 1980's, numbered 443/450 at lower left, and pencil signed at lower right, by one of the better known American artists of the twentieth century, HENRIETTE WYETH (1(contact info removed)). Wyeth was the daughter of N.C. (Newell) Wyeth, the great American painter and illustrator, and the older sister of famed watercolorist Andrew Wyeth. She never reached the levels of fame, acclaim and recognition attained by her relatives, but art history has carved out a secure place for her. Today major galleries and auction houses handle her fine still life works and sensitive portraits. Wyeth's biography is quite interesting. She was born in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and while young was taking lessons from her famous father. She attended some art classes in Boston and Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and had exposure to the theatre, which was to leave its mark on her work. By the 1930's she was back taking lessons from her father in Pennsylvania, and it was there that she was to meet the artist Peter Hurd. She eventually married him and moved to southern New Mexico where the couple lived on a ranch near San Patricio. The ranch became a focal point of art and culture in the remote region. Later in life as Wyeth's career bloomed, she was called upon to create portraits of the famous. She outlived Peter Hurd and passed away in 1997, leaving a rich body of work.
