The app turns your portable device into a Wi-Fi remote and lets you customize playback options through its intuitive interface. Some of our customers who use the AV Controller app have said they have no need for the included remote after their initial setup. (But Yamaha redesigned the included remote this year anyway to make it more user-friendly for those who prefer a traditional remote.) Yamaha's Intelligent Amp Assign Yamaha's Intelligent Amp Assign feature automatically powers off the rear surround speakers in a 7-channel system when you listen to music in Zone 2. Yamaha's Intelligent Amp Assign feature automatically assigns amplifier channels, so when Zone 2 is powered on, the power for the two surround back channels is automatically redirected to the stereo setup in Zone 2.
