Description

This bank note from 1863 was one of several types of fractional notes produced as a response to the coin shortage during the American civil War. I have other fractional notes for sale as well. They make a great conversation piece, especially because they are still legal tender today. The green ring on the obverse is a copper-based bronzing anti-counterfitting measure.
