The Amp is quiet, no hum, static or noise. All selections (AM, FM, Phono 1 & 2, AUX, Tape) work. The faceplate is perfect, no scratches or dents, all lettering is perfect & intact, all knobs are present and clean scratch free. All functions work, controls are clean, noise free and cleaned with deoxit. All the lights are working as well. I believe this Sansui 5000x was serviced. I cannot verify this as I am the second owner. Please note in the picture the heat sync on the rear of the machine is copper colored and appears to be new. This does not detract from the operation. The wood cabinet is also beautiful, clean, no holes, and no stains. All corners are sharp. The inside is as clean as the outside. This receiver has been very well cared for. Please see all photos for complete details as they are part of the description. Testing: I took the cabinet off to look inside. The Sansui was pretty clean on the inside. I took a small paint brush and carefully dusted / vacuumed the inside comp1nts. I hooked some speakers up and ran the RCA cables from my turntable to the phono 1 & 2 and AUX input jacks. All worked perfectly. All knobs / selector switches / buttons work as new. No cracking present. I then selected the FM on the selector. I tuned in several FM stations. Sound was produced from the several FM stations visited. Cabinet Condition: The top of the wood cabinet is not scratched, dinged, or faded. The faceplate is not scratched, smokey, or dinged. For a +45 year old cabinet it is in impressively good condition. As with most vintage equipment, this Sansui 5000x may require some minor adjustments to improve performance and bring this amazing receiver into spec.
