To continue the story, I’ve refinished the desk by hand painting it with a Charcoal Gray Infinity paint by Sherwin Williams to mimic the color of Navy battleships. After removing the stain, the top was added down with 60, 80, 120, 180, and 210 sand paper. Stained with Minwax Pecan stain and protected with Varathane Polyurethane clear coat.
