$400 was used as family unit, but we've all had laptops for some time. Original HD was 5400 sata (slow), and being a hardware engineer I upgraded it to a 1TB SSD 6 months ago which runs lighting fast, flawlessly and will for years. anything comparable would be at least $1200 or more new. Just the SSD upgrade alone local shops would charge $500-700 NYC Manhattan pick up only
