The mechanical ones used the wood acorn carvings as weights. It doesn't need the third acorn to operate. The pendulum swings. The bird chirps. It is keeping time fine. NOT WORKING: After the bird chirps, the kids dance and a song plays. This is not working. I tried adding oil in case it mechanism seized but it didn't work.
