Technical Note on Internal Differences: A recent teardown by a customer revealed that the Japanese (100V) and U.S. (120V) versions are nearly identical, except that the U.S. model incorporates an additional 300Ω (1W) resistor on the PCB. This resistor moderates the motor’s speed when supplied with 120V. Without it, the motor may run faster and produce a different sound profile. Installing a 300Ω resistor into the Japanese model has been shown to align its performance (speed and noise) with the U.S. version.
