Description

[DESCRIPTION] Item Condition: Brand New, Unused, 100% Authentic Voltage and Frequency: - Designed for the Japanese domestic market: 100V AC, 60Hz. - For use in the United States (120V AC, 60Hz), a step-down transformer (120V→100V) is recommended to maintain optimal operating conditions and ensure safety. Direct 120V Usage (At Your Own Risk): We have received reports from customers successfully running the FR301-82 directly on 120V AC without transformers, experiencing no immediate issues. However, this operation is not officially endorsed. Running the 100V unit at 120V may increase motor speed beyond intended design parameters, potentially affecting longevity or performance. Proceed only if you accept full responsibility. Plug Type: The product is equipped with a two-pole grounded Type A plug, compatible with standard U.S. Type A outlets. Refer to the 5th product image for a visual reference. Technical Note on Internal Differences: A recent teardown by a customer revealed that the Japanese (100V) and U.S. (120V) versions are nearly identical, except that the U.S. model incorporates an additional 300Ω (1W) resistor on the PCB. This resistor moderates the motor’s speed when supplied with 120V. Without it, the motor may run faster and produce a different sound profile. Installing a 300Ω resistor into the Japanese model has been shown to align its performance (speed and noise) with the U.S. version. Please note: - Any modification, including resistor installation, is performed at your own risk. - No technical support is available for such alterations.
