Demilune "landscape with cow" oil painting atop face with the maker's name in banding "John Fletcher (of) Barnsley" Yorkshire UK. Applied ormolo spandrels. Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and day of the month. Full fluted columns with cast Corinthian capitals each side of the hood, vine and floral carving throughout hood, carcass door and base, all resting on bracket feet. Inside, an antique nail attaches a small handwritten card with "Rev Plaxton Langport", likely the man for whom the clock was originally made in England. This clock predates the American Revolution!
