Description

For Sale: Joe DiMaggio Autographed Baseball with Family History This Joe DiMaggio signed baseball has been a part of my life since I was a kid. I remember my dad showing it to me when I was about 9 or 10, when I was starting Little League. My parents divorced soon after, and I didn't see it again until he passed away around 7 years ago. After his passing, my brother and I inherited his massive sports collection. We split everything—cards, jerseys, plaques, you name it. I ended up with a box of what I thought were random autographed baseballs. After trying to decipher a couple of the signatures without much luck, I set them aside in my garage for a few years. Then last year, we had a house fire, and I lost nearly 95% of everything I owned. But while sorting through the debris, I found a half-burned box with a couple of baseballs that survived. My uncle, a big sports fan, offered to take a closer look. To our surprise, he discovered that one of the signatures was none other than Joe DiMaggio's. Seeing his name so clearly was a huge shock—I could’ve easily recognized it if I had only kept looking! Although there’s no letter of authenticity, my dad was a serious collector who cherished authenticity in all his items. With my uncle, we researched and compared the signature, ink color, and even the ball's history. The ball is a Beer & Sons Double Header, produced between 1(contact info removed), after DiMaggio’s retirement. The greenish-blue ink aligns with aged signatures of the same era, adding to our confidence in its authenticity. I’m selling it now because this piece deserves to be with someone who appreciates and enjoys it as much as my dad did. If you’re a true baseball fan, this might just be the piece that brings back memories of the golden age of the game Asking $450 or BEST OFFER BUYER PLEASE READ: We don't know if the ball had a letter of authenticity or not and the last 4 pictures I uploaded are for comparisons ONLY so you can see the similarities with different signatures that have been authenticated.
