Vintage 1950s Dormeyer Fri-Well Model 5800-A Deep Fryer - WORKS!!

Vintage 1950s Fri-Well electric deep fryer Model 5800-A made by Dormeyer Corp. in Chicago, Illinois. Very Good Condition!! Plugged it in and it heated right up. The front chef's eyes light up when the set temperature is reached as shown in the pic. Have not actually tested the unit by frying anything though. Temperature settings on control dial go up to 450 degrees. Drain plug works as normal and I did test with water to be sure closes tight and drains freely. Comes with original frying basket and handle which are both very good condition. Original cloth power cord very good, but a little stiff from age. Cloth cord also slightly frayed where it enters into the fryer. Both fryer heat proof handles excellent, lid has a few barely noticeable very minor indents, and some external wear to chef area above temp control. No dents to external metal. Clean and shiny!! This unit is old though, and there are signs of use... mainly light burnt on deposits on the interior metal cooking area and along top rim as shown in the pics. I cleaned it up really nice, but will probably shine up like new with the correct cleaning solution. Displays very well inside and out as is. See pics for more details. Fryer measures about 11" long not including handles and drain, 7.5" wide and 8.5" high not including lid. Sold "As is" so please ask any questions before purchasing.
