Description

This bike is currently being housed in Santa Monica at the iconic motorbikes warehouse. They are professionals, currently have keys/title/etc and will handle all payment processing and any logistics if needed with great rates on deliveries to 48 states. Please see their listing for more in depth photos, photos, inspection reports, etc. Simply posting here as supplemental listing since Iconic Motorbikes is a fairly niche auction house — also happy to help answer any q’s before you reach out to Iconic if interested . https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/2021-ducati-scrambler-desert-sled/ When Ducati first released the Scrambler, there were some questions about how off-road capable it was with such a name. It would go on to become a huge sales success for Ducati, and the Italian firm responded by expanding the model lineup with with different displacement option as well as variants like the Icon, Nightshift, Cafe Racer, and one for the off-road enthusiasts: the Desert Sled. Cycle World called it “a Scrambler that might actually scramble.” The Desert Sled was differentiated by a 19″ front wheel, a set of dirtbike handlebars, a skid plate, some off-road fenders, a set of Pirelli Scorpion dual sport tires, a one piece seat, a compact exhaust, and — of course — more suspension travel (7.9″ vs 5.9″). In practice, such changes made for a competent mount, both on the road and off the beaten path. As Dirt Bike Magazine found in its review, “Marketing aside, the Scrambler Ducati Desert Sled is best described as an adventure stripper. If you take an adventure bike, remove the fairing, luggage and some of the fuel capacity, you have a smaller, lighter bike that’s less intimidating in the dirt. Think of it as a new mission statement; instead of week-long adventures, you have daytime excursions. The Desert Sled model takes the dirt part of the mission more seriously than the original did. It got a reinforced frame, a longer swingarm, longer suspension travel, spoked wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires. There’s a small skid plate and a wide handlebar.” This example is VIN: ML0KAFPM8MT002150. The seller acquired the bike from Del Amo Motorsports two years ago. In preparation for the listing, the seller had us repair the front and rear turn signal wiring and reconnect the horn. Our service department notes the following in their condition report: Gas Tank Internal: Ok Tire Year Front: 4520 / Rear: 3819 Tire Life Front: 95% / Rear: 95% Tire Press Front: 36PSI / Rear: 36PSI Brake Life Front: 95% / Rear: 95% Hydraulic Brake Fluid Front: Ok Rear: Ok Clutch Fluid: Conditional Pass 1.5% – 3% Moisture Oil Quality: Ok Level: Ok Coolant Quality: Ok Level: Ok Low Beam: Ok High Beam: Ok Turn Front: Ok Tail Light: Fail Brake Light: Ok Plate Light: Ok Kill: Ok Horn: Ok Fork: Ok Shock/s: Ok Drive Chain Condition: Ok Battery: 12.6V Standing 13.9V Charging Test Ride: None, Bike ran on bench Modifications: Custom Mugello Seat from Thailand. Inside of the tank: It is riding on Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires with date codes of 3819 and 4520. The sale includes one key, the owner’s manual, the stock take-off parts, as well as some uninstalled Rizoma upgrades like a reservoir, a brake sensor, and a set of grips. Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection: Currently located in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Ducati is offered on a clean California title with registration that expired in August 2023.
