Description
This pitcher belonged to my grandmother (and I'm a grandfather). She most likely acquired it around 1900, give or take 20 years. She lived in Mainz, Germany. I believe she acquired it as an antique so it may date back to much earlier than 1900. The pewter lid is inscribed with the initials MG. Those are not the initials of any member or ancestors of my family. Note that the handle at some time broke and was glued back together in 3 places. I can't find any date or signature that would indicate it's provenance. It is 14 3/4" tall and 6 1/2" in diameter.
