Vintage Viking of Minneapolis RP83 Tubed Mic Line Preamp Working..Please Read!!

Hello and thanks for looking! Here I have for sale a still in great shape Viking tubed one channel preamp. The unit originally came in reel to reel modules. It has a two prong power cable hard wired to it. This is NOT an EQ, phantom power supply, or compressor...it's a mic/line preamp only! Front panel has 1/4 inch input and output. This is not a rack mount...table top only and the zip ties in pic I was using to secure it....not included lol!! It's not needed to work, but I advise using a $10 xlr mic to 1/4 inch adapter at the input for mics...it gives a cleaner input signal to noise ratio. I also advise using a direct box at the rca output for best performance. These are NOT included, but are cheap ways to make this pre really shine...a down and dirty way to add pseudo "transformer" ins and outs. You then use one volume knob on front panel to operate....all other controls are not tested. There is no power switch...you plug it in and it's always on! It definitely works as a audio preamp and passes audio...no other promises are made! These vintage tube preamps are highly sought-after secret weapons among recording engineers. They are known for delivering rich, warm tube distortion that enhances guitar, vocals, keyboards, and, frankly just about anything.
