The hard shell is either left in a lightly polished, natural aluminum state or painted, shielding a highly reflective interior which optimizes the amount of down light. Each variation has an open hatch topped with a raw aluminum cage, also spilling light above. The Aluminum finish includes a gridded, etched glass bottom diffuser (or ‘visor’), which will soften the strong task light below. About the Brand Founded in 1990 by Peter Bowles, Original BTC is a lighting company rooted in national pride, manufacturing classic and industrial British design for contemporary homes. Encouraging local enterprise, all products are exclusively produced in the UK, utilizing factories in Oxford, Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent to hand-produce and assemble the fine bone china, aluminum and lighting components used in Original BTC fixtures.
