Description
Vintage Sew Gem Model No. 215 Hide-A-Way Sewing Machine $50 Orange City FL pick up only. Will NOT HOLD without payment. Be sure to check out all of our great bargains listed on my page! Please NO LOWBALL OFFERS! This vintage Sew-Gem sewing machine is the Model no. 215 with a full rotary motor. It was manufactured by the Gellman Mfg Co on Rock Island, Ill. in 1951. The cabinet is a walnut fold up and out table with an attached power socket that operates the machine and its attached light. It has a front door on cabinet with a shelf for holding sewing supplies. This machine does power on and seems to work as intended, but the power cords are very old and cracked exposing bare wire. Did not try to sew anything because of this hazard that needs serviced before use. These are a bit rarer than the multiple manufactured Singers of the same time period. The cabinet table measures 44" W x 17"D x 30.0"H when closed up.
