Retired Schwarzwalder Chalet 8-day Cuckoo Clock With Animated Woodcutter by Hubert Herr This is an authentic Black Forest cuckoo clock, hand-made in Germany by the renowned manufacturer Hubert Herr. Hubert Herr is unique for producing movements, carvings, and cases entirely in-house in their Triberg, Black Forest workshop. It features a traditional chalet style, depicting a Black Forest house with a detailed scene including a woodcutter figure. It typically includes a cuckoo bird that emerges and "cuckoos" on the hour, and the half hour with the woodcutter animates as well. This particular model has an 8-day mechanical movement, meaning the weights need to be wound manually approximately every eight days to keep the clock running. It's equipped with a German brass rack-strike movement. The clock includes a manual night-time sound shut-off lever, allowing the cuckoo sound and animations to be silenced during the night.
