Warn 8274 winch

This is the older and rare version of the 8274 winch. The only difference is this version 8074 does not have the free spool. As you can see in the picture the free spool is missing. Again this is a rare model and only in production for a short period of time. The ones that still exist ended up being converted to free spool, which is an easy task to do. Personally, I decided not to do the clutch conversion since this is a rare model and a good conversation topic. Because most people doesn’t know about this clutch-less version. Anyway,I pretty much replaced every part in this build besides the beefy gear wheels. Those gear wheels are built like tanks. I took everything apart, cleaned it and replace any items that look defective or worn. Here is a list of what I did and replace parts with Warn brand. -The bottom housing was sprayed with about 8 coats of spray on liner type material. This helps to protect the aluminum housing and also helps to reduce noice and vibration while winching. -Top housing was sprayed with 5 coats of black gloss enamel paint. -Replace all seals and bearings with Warn products. -installed Warn Brake kit which includes all brake pads, bearings, and spring. - Motor was replaced with a new 4.5hp motor. The old motor needs minor rebuild ( cracked terminal) which I will include in the sale. -opinion gear had to replace because there were deep burred marks. See one of the pictures. -solenoid was replace with an “Albright” type contactors. Google Albright to understand why the 8274 fanatics are switching their solenoids to this type. This is the super winch contactors which is the American version. I haven’t silicone the contactors yet since some people like to mount the contactors in their engine bay or cab. Personally if you take out the box the winch looks kinda empty.
