This is a Revell model kit of the U.S.S. Hornet (CV-8), a United States Navy aircraft carrier that served during World War II. The model is approximately 20 inches (51.4 cm) long. It is a plastic model kit intended for assembly. The actual USS Hornet launched the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in 1942 and participated in the pivotal Battle of Midway. The kit includes parts to differentiate it as the Hornet, a Yorktown-class carrier.
