Antique 1900's Restored Steamer Trunk / Antique Chest

Awesome early century restored trunk. Missing half of the locking mechanism but the side latches work great. The wooden slats have been sanded and painted walnut. All of the metal straps have been buffed out so there is no rust and they still have that beautiful patina. I did not want to pain them black like most people do because I wanted to keep it as original as possible. I put new leather handles and they look great. Inside all of the paper has been removed and freshly painted toasted almond.. the tray is original but I replaced the bottom with 1/4" maple hardwood and stained it walnut to match the slats. Lots of work went into this and it is a stunning piece. It may make a great coffee table with the right piece of glass. This trunk would honestly look great in any room. Please see pics for details.
