2002 Subaru Forester S for sale. I am the second owner, purchased at 10k miles. Recent work (within the last 2-3 years) includes new struts, brakes, driveshafts, tie-rods, ball joints, valve cover gaskets, radiator & hoses, and starter. I have used Mobil 1 full synthetic for every oil change. Runs well - its been used as a daily driver for many years. Here are the known issues: 1) the car has a "rebuilt" title from a rear-end hit at 10k miles (I have photos). Following the professional rebuild, it has given me great service over the last 170k miles. 2) the rear fenders are rusted through in several locations around the wheel well. 3) the clear-coat is peeling in a few places. 4) you need to check and top off the coolant every week or so. 5) the exhaust is a bit noisy 6) the "check engine" light comes and goes due to a "small leak" in the evap system. It has been this way for many years, but the car has always passed emissions tests. No further tests are required for yearly registration due to the car's age. 7) the front passenger outer CV joint clicks when accelerating through turns. 8) the passenger headlight was replaced with a pull from a 2000 Forester. It therefore isn't a perfect fit, but the quality of the material was so much better than the original I decided to leave it. I even considered swapping the drivers' side as well. I list the car as in "fair" condition, and have priced accordingly. It is ready for you to drive home, but you will need to bring your own license plates.
