Defects & imperfections – please check pictures made under the bright light & magnification: • Light surface scratches to gold enamel from age and handling • One dish shows small enamel loss in a floral section (as pictured) • Small firing marks and speckles typical for midcentury copper enamel Fascinating Fun Facts: • Brimmer-Email was part of Austria’s midcentury revival of handcrafted vitreous enamel art, producing small-batch decorative pieces. • These dishes are true fired enamel on copper — every color area is fused glass, not paint. • The shimmering gold surface is created using a technique known as goldwash enamel. • The dotted rim is applied by hand using a traditional Austrian/Swiss enamel edging method. • Stylized owls were among the most collectible motifs of the era and remain highly sought after today.
