Antique Silver Victorian British Wine Champagne Bottle Case holder

Fyi silver plated. This was a table decoration case to hide an open bottle of wine as it was deemed crude and unattractive at the time to have alcohol openly displayed if it was not decanted in the appropriate manner. It has the Robert & William Sorley mark, a very well known Watch and Clock Makers, Jewellers and Silversmith. But it might of been rebranded as it it looks exactly like the style made by Rupert Favell & Co. These are hard to locate items especially in original working condition from such an esteemed maker.
