Description

First things first - this is scooter does not work. Please be aware that this is for someone who wants a project, not someone looking for a functioning scooter. This is a description of the scooter and has a few pictures ({url removed}). the image is a stock photo, not the actual scooter. This one is red. It's currently dismantled, but I can throw the body back on and send pictures if anyone is interested. This scooter is completely electric. I purchased this scooter used last fall. It's overall in decent condition, but it suddenly quit running and I spent a few months rewiring it and trying to get it going again. I've run out of time to work on it, so I'm hoping to pass it on to someone who has a bit more time on their hands. I'm happy to walk anyone through what I've done to it and what I think it needs to get going again. In short, I replaced the motor controller when it quit running last fall. I think the motor or the wiring to the motor is the problem now, but I haven't had time to pull the motor apart. It runs on 5 12v electric mobility scooter batteries. I assume the batteries are fairly old, but when it ran last fall I was able to get to work and back (about 10 mi roundtrip) with no issues, and the drive included a fairly big hill. So again, this is a project. If you are interested in tearing apart the motor, possibly replacing the motor, this could be a pretty good project for you. You could even convert it to lighter lithium batteries for a really interesting upgrade.
