New in box.. Includes instructional booklet that details care and maintenance. Purchased at a Fine Arts Festival in Cedar Key for $300 for daughter who thought she had to have it. Psalteries were referenced in the Bible, as a string instrument to be played with finger plucking. Bowed Psalteries were developed during the renaissance era. It is a beautiful wooden string instrument that would be a gorgeous addition to any collection.. To play or for display.. The strings are steel music wire, the finish is hand-rubbed lacquer; very durable and requires little care.
