Selling a restored Harman Kardon A300 and its unrestored but working Tuner the T300x See receipt and restoration specs below and on the invoice. Included in the sale is a second quad set of all original Harman Kardon 7408 power tubes. (2) HK 7408 quad sets included. Am paraphrasing Stereo Rehab arguably the best Vintage Electronics Service Company in the Midwest ‘The Harman Kardon A300 was the working man’s amplifier. HK did everything right at the bare minimum to make the amplifier a high quality machine. With that said their are no sophisticated circuits or components, it is a basic amplifier that does everything very well’ FYI from the SR website: Stereo Rehab does NOT engage in any forms of modifications, so-called “upgrades”, or any alterations to a units original design. All repairs to this amplifier have made to original factory specs. Meaning when you listen to this amp you are hearing it exactly as HK intended. After the repair Casper Yardley SR owner hooked this up to his JBLs chained to the ceiling (see photo of his listening room) in his component auditioning room. All I can say was that not only was I floored other customers came over to me and said “are you serious that unit is playing the music” then Casper came over and flip the volume to max (something I wouldn’t of done) just blew everyone away playing flawlessly without breaking up, loud clear. Amazing midrange vocals to die for. I play these through JBL’s C38’s Barons they are only 16 ohm while they sound wonderful they can’t handle full volume. I am selling after enjoying it for a year am ready to rotate in another amp. With all that said this is buyer pickup only. Buyer must have time to listen to the unit before accepting it. There are no returns. If the buyer is unhappy I will gladly refund the sale through the eBay site. SR tested one quad set of my 7408’s and they all tested strong. Recently picked up another quad set that ran the A300 without issue but not tested. No tubes are guaranteed after pickup. A final note I asked Caspar to switch out the RCA jacks, he wouldn’t. He said the original jacks are superior to any crappy replacement he could install. Also to note he said while all switches were cleaned there is no way to get around a popping noise when switching into the phono mode, that these old amplifiers did that out of the factory. He said the proper way to deal with that is turn the volume all the way down or make the input switch with the amp powered off. Am selling this unit as stated above. There is no switching sounds with any of the other controls Volume, Balance, Bass, Treble, Blend or the switches. This unit has a nice Contour control for boosting bass. All input jacks work properly as does the A/C jack on the back. I have not tested tape in tape out. I run Bluetooth and my CD through the AUX. I run the Tuner through tuner jack. I run my turntable with Moving magnet cartridge through “phono high” there is also a “phono low” but I don’t have a moving coil cartridge to test it. A300 Unit is being sold in good working order. T300x picks up stations on both AM/FM but has not been restored. Selling than as non working. Repeating selling conditions: With all that said this is buyer pickup only.
