1969 Datsun Roadster Project with Large Parts Collection

This Roadster has been a part of my life since 2006, and it’s been a dream of mine to see it fully restored. Unfortunately, life has taken me in a different direction, and I’m hoping to pass it on to someone who can finish what I started. Over the years, I’ve invested over $25,000 into this project (not including storage fees) and gathered a large assortment of parts from multiple 1967.5, 1968, and 1969 cars. The Roadster is currently disassembled, and I have 186 detailed photos of all the parts in a Dropbox album that I can share. What’s Included (Partial List): • Body: 1(contact info removed) body, purchased from Dan Garrison in Portland, OR after the original was bent. • Engine: 1600 engine, rebuilt in 2006 and never turned over. • Transmissions: 3 total (two 4-speeds, one 5-speed). • Two trunk lids: one solid, one with holes for included luggage rack. • Two windshields (frames and glass). • Roll bar. • Manuals & Documentation: Original two-part factory service manual, plus many receipts including the engine rebuild. • Many additional parts, though not guaranteed to be a complete set for full assembly. Known missing items: side windows (these may still be located but are not guaranteed), distributor rotor and cap. Work Completed: • Bodywork & Paint: Completed in Oregon by Al Rimer around 2010 for $10,000. The paint is not perfect and has some flaws. • Stored in Hood River until 2021; now located in Tumwater, WA. The Story: I bought this Roadster in college in 2006, thinking I could finish the restoration in a summer. Over time, I purchased more cars to ensure I had nearly every part I could need. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of trusting someone to store and work on it who never followed through, costing me valuable time and money. By 2012, the project had gone into long-term storage. Then, in 2024, I welcomed my first child — and just three months later, I suffered a heart attack. My priorities changed overnight. I now need to focus on my health and my family, so it’s time to let this project go. This Roadster deserves to be back on the road, and my hope is that it will find a new owner who shares my love for keeping vintage Datsuns alive.
