Italian 1960s Murano Style Empoli Art Glass Hand-Painted Green Compote, 6x11.5” SHIPPING IS INCLUDED Such a gorgeous display piece — bright green glass, gold leaf, and hand-painted florals. PLEASE NOTE: The first image is an artistic representation; all other photos and the video show the actual item. Pictures are part of the description, please check them & let me know if you require additional ones. Great vintage condition — appears to have been displayed only, with no signs of actual use. Original sticker is present. Gilding, enamel, and applied rigaree are all intact and beautifully preserved. Fascinating Fun Facts: • Italian “dipinto a mano” pieces like this were made using hot-worked blown glass, then finished in Venetian decorating studios where gold leaf and enamel florals were applied by hand. • The ruffled rigaree trim is created by pulling molten glass threads and curling them while still hot — a traditional Murano technique. • Intended for sweets, wrapped candies, potpourri, or simply as an elegant centerpiece on a dining table or sideboard.
