This listing is for an antique, hand-painted decorative cabinet/portrait plate produced by Crescent China in the early 1920's. This art nouveau piece depicts a maiden lounging on a garden bench holding a swag of lovely blue and purple spring blossoms, while a cherub or putti joyously holds the other end of the swag. The piece has a thick pink air-brush style design around the edge of the plate, and copious amounts of hand-applied gilt around the center composition and scalloped rim. The palette of pastels employed by the artist is truly unique and rare. This lovely plate is stamped on the back in gold "Crescent China," and measures approximately 10-3/4" in diameter. There is some crazing due to age throughout the plate, but this flaw is not too noticeable upon display (please see photographs).
