You're looking at a piece of music history, about a year away from being half a century old; Not to be confused with the 1977 models, This 1976 ibanez custom model was made in june 1976 .. aka "the lawsuit ibanez", from Just before ibanez was forced to change the headstock Away from the "open book" headstock shape and pearl inlay headstock diamond logo (both of which this guitar has) due to lawsuits. The Ibanez lawsuit for them stealing the precise les paul headstock open-book shape and design, logo shapes, and more, was a big deal.. So, considering how big of a company ibanez is now, that makes this an especially awesome collector's piece! Made in japan, with the original gold plated machine heads, and mother of pearl inlay headstock diamond and matching block inlay on an ebonized rosewood fretboard with 22 frets, a scale length of 628mm / 24¾", a bone nut on a bolt-on maple neck, and a similar body also made in japan, all make it a beautiful complete guitar to display, or you could even stand out as you play an incredibly unique and rare guitar on stage. This was gotten in a trade, and is all original, except for the body, of which i found a japanese body similar to the original to display it, and made sure it plays. It Does play and sound nice, and is a great conversation piece! This lawsuit event happened before ibanez was quite the powerhouse it is now, and aside from the base, this is an all original lawsuit ibanez headstock and will look great lit up on your wall!
