Please NO LOWBALL OFFERS! This is another recent "Barn Find" (actually from attic of 200 year old home) manufactured in 1906 by the Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company, Stamford, Connecticut. It is an untouched, completely original piece and needs a complete restoration as it shows its age. Restored, this piece would be valued above $800+. The history on these Flat Top style trunks is they are among the most popular style trunks of the late 1800's and the early 1900's. As this one is, they are often covered in canvas. They then have wood slats and metal banding to strengthen them and for decorative design. They ranged from the basic trunks for utility to the more elaborate French and European designers like this one. The inside removable tray is present and has 3 separated tray compartments. Its dimensions are 32"L x 17.5"W X 20"H This trunk could be restored in any colors, materials or designs you wish as it is not an extremely rare piece....but would also make for an excellent photo/stage prop, a conversation piece in your home...or just to own a piece of Early American history! These also make superb repurposed into coffee tables!
