Description

Up for local pickup in St. Petersburg, Florida, is a vintage Ford 2.77 light-duty 3-speed manual transmission assembly. This transmission was pulled from a vintage Ford Falcon (hand-marked "66 Falcon" on the side cover). This is the correct light-duty unit factory-equipped behind 144ci and 170ci inline-6 engines across Ford Falcon, Ranchero, Mercury Comet, and early Mustang models from 1960 through late 1966. Included Components & Casting Numbers: • Transmission Main Case: Casting number C0DR-7006-A (1960 design style). Includes the square side inspection cover plate. • Extension Tail Housing: Casting number C1DR-7A040-A, cast at Ford's historic Sheffield Aluminum plant. Includes the shifting linkage tube framework attached. • Driveshaft Slip Yoke: Clean 25-spline internal rear output yoke setup. • Input Shaft: Original Ford 10-spline input shaft gear. Condition: • AS-IS / Rebuildable Core / Parts Only. • The unit shows normal surface oxidation, grease, and grime from storage. • Internal splines on the output slip yoke and the input shaft teeth appear straight and well-defined with no major edge pitting. • Please Note: The front aluminum bearing retainer snout (the sleeve that the clutch throwout bearing slides over) is missing from the front face and is not included. • The internal gears have not been deeply inspected; this transmission is being sold as a restoration candidate or a donor source for vintage hard parts.
